For a few reasons... I run the EXS24 on my Mac, and have loads of audio tracks running, so it means that I leave more processing power to those functions. Other than that it is calculated to give me a workspace a few people cna work in without it getting too crowded. I can be mixing whilst someone else is designing sounds with headphones on. Aside from that it seems pointless to have all these PC's lying around doing nothing when for less than the cost of one synth I can have them all kitted out with 24/96 capable audio cards and multiport midi interfaces. Lastly it impresses the hell out of prospective clients to see all this gear lying around waiting to be used.
