The Spectrasonics instruments are working well with VSTi Host and a couple of others that we are testing. It is a cool way to work to dedicate an older laptop or an iBook with an MT-4 and an 828 to use it for a module or two. It does free up your main system quite well. VSTi Host's latency seems to have the best performance on Mac so far. We'll have a recommendation in the product for which stand-alone VST hosts work the best for Mac and PC. No need to make a stand-alone version if they will work reliably with one of these inexpensive or shareware hosts. We may even include them in the product as a demo version for those that wish to work this way. -EP Spectrasonics In a message dated 2/4/02 9:28:26 AM, richmondj@... writes: >Hiya, > >>you will really dig it, especially when you combine that >>great VS color with our layers of JP-8, CS-80, Memorymoog, Indigo, >JP-8000, >>XV-5080, Absynth, Prophet 10, JD-990, Waldorf Wave, Super Nova, >Oberheim 8 >>voice, Waldorf Q, Metasynth, Andromeda, OB-X, Poly 6, K-5000, Reactor, >etc, >>etc layers....this thing is really a monster. > >Will it be a standalone module or just a plug in? > >According to the website just a plug in. > >I am running a native system that I like to keep quite lean, and I have >several computers that I turn into standalone modules, ie giga, reaktor >etc. VSTi's are fine but I would much prefer a standlone module such as >the way Absynth, B4, Reaktor and Pro52 are, rather than need a host >program to allow it to function. >I know there are a couple of vsti wrapper programs around but they are >a >bit finicky and crash often. > >Is there any chance of having this program available as a stanalone? > >Regards, > >James
