Add this comment from Rubber Chicken on the EXS mail list.
A list you may want to join... people share their own samples here and
seems
to only be productive posts about the EXS.

You will need a yahoo account. (It's free to sign up.)
To join the EXS list go to:

    1. The EXS parameters are not as deep a level as the parameters in the
Ensoniq. In other words, the filter envelopes, the LFO parameters, and
others, are on the Instrument level in EXS, whereas on the Ensoniq, you
  can
set these aprameters for every wave, if desired.

    2. The Ensoniq usually adds some of it's built-in effects on some
sounds,
and of course these don't carry over.

    3. Ensoniq sounds are usually well programmed and have deep usability.
  It's
not easy to get this all across.

    4. Ensoniq envelopes are 5 stage; the EXS only has ADSR's.

Other than that, they work quite well.
