Hi, Eli wrote, > Superior in what way? It is faster is the obvious one when you run Translator. However, it also converts the samples/programs better IMHO. I have some Akai CD-Roms for example that have played back with clicks in the samples (right in the loops) when converted via the exs-24 converter. I convert those same samples using Translator and there are no clicks (incidentally, I don't get clicks on my hardware samplers either). There are many people using CDXtract and I found that similar issues like the clicks in loops exist there. I tested CDXtract 3.6 prior to buying Translator. For me, I kind of like the interface of CDXtract better but Translator does a better job of the translation for me. That is why I went with it. The other bonus is that I have some Roland CD-Roms as well as some E-mu CD-Roms and Translator can translate those too. Translator handles the Roland emphasis curve (if you want it to - it is an option) and even simulates the alternate looping styles that are unique to Roland samplers (ie forward and reverse).
