Incidentally, I also found this with some of the >CDXtract conversions I don't find you in my customer base so I guess you are speaking about a demo version which is limited to one partition only. The click problem usually comes from a not well known feature of the Akai sampler, the loop points that are displayed on the screen are not the loop points that are used to play the samples. The internal converters of the EXS24 and the Creamware sampler don't fix this looping problem which may result in some audible clicks. CDXtract automatically adjust the loop points to match those used by the Akai samplers. Another reason why you may have clicks is when the left and right channels of a stereo sample have different loop points. If during the conversion you have checked the option to merge the left and right samples into stereo interleaved files you may have some clicks in the loop because interleaved files share the same loop for both channels. >If you were asking about a Mac version, it is not available for >either program yet but both companies say that one will be available >very soon. It is my understanding that both will work under Virtual >PC though I haven't tried it myself since I am already on a PC. A big warning here, though it works with VPC 3 and 4, it doesn't seem to work with VPC 5 because the disk insert events are not trapped anymore by VPC 5 which means that you cannot read any proprietary formated discs (Akai, Emu, Roland...) Anyway the Mac version of CDXtract should be available next month, we are reaching the end of the betatest phase. Bernard
