Sorry, of course you're right. The main thing is that .exs files (or 
aliases pointing at them) must be in the Sampler Instruments folder 
for Logic to see them.

A nice feature to remember is that if you add instruments while Logic 
is open, just use <Refresh menu> for the EXS24 to "see" them.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
