If you really wanted to you could get an Apple PowerBook with a Magma PCI expander and install a Hammerfall into that, to get the performance capability of a tower in a mobile machine (without the G4 chip, but a G4 laptop should be out this year). The magma runs between $600-$800 and can be found at http://www.Sweetwater.com. Members of NIN use them with ProTools hardware in their hotel rooms while on tour.
