The results presented made me wonder how much better some of the sets of samples I have would sound with better pitch shifting algorithms. To my ears, most sets of (for example) synth samples I have sound way worse than the better VSTi's when I use them with the EXS24. It would be interesting to see if Kontact is any better. I guess the pitch shifting algorithms and the level of interpolation in the EXS 24 may evolve to exploit the increasing power of PCs/Macs --a super high quality mode for rendering would be one way to go. If really top quality pitch shifting is still too processor intensive for realtime perhaps it could be done off line. Perhaps the EXS24/Logic could offer the option of generating a set of top quality anti-aliased sample files from a single sample or a small sample set. These could then be used in performance with low CPU overhead but top quality sound. (might need to spol the files from disc if the set is large.) Regards, Murray
