A track can contain data on several different channels. And it's called format-0 and format-1. There is also officially a thing called format-2 which is mainly intended for drum machines (takes care of patterns & thelike), but I've never seen one for real. > >Is the Stylus SMF's a different version of SMF than other GC >>sequences? > >Possibly, but I feel the problem is probably a bit more obscure than that. Easy to check. Logic can export both format 0 and format 1. Theres a checkbox somewhere, like "export single track as midifile-0 format". Check that, have a single-track song and export: you got a format 0 file there. Now take a multitrack song and export once more: a format 1 file. Drag both over the program and see what happens. If someone could send me such a problematic midifile (one please, not a dozen :), I would be willing to spend a few minutes to see if there's anything "funny" about it. What was the problem exactly? Didn't follow this thread to well... Dropping on top of which program caused problems? Logic? Or something different? -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra <h@...> Omega Art: http://www.ision.nl/users/h/index.html
