I'm in the middle of putting up a humble Spectrasonics sample library containing 5 of them sample cd's. Putting the first 3 cd rom titles into EXS24 was done without any problems. They are present in the Sampler Instru- ments flip menu and they play back as they should. Putting the third CD from their Metamorphosis (which features groove control) is another story: First of all, the akai conversion took nearly 2 (two!) hours, compared to the 3 Distorted Reality and the 2 Supreme beats CD's which were done in 1 hour tops. I checked out the Meta 3 cd it's content and compared to the other copied CD roms it's huge: 934 mb! with 934 files and 13805 maps. That's funny cos the actual third Meta cd (it's a 3 cd box + an additional GC CD) i took it from is only 650 MB. Although i placed the Meta 3 file brotherly next to other files in the Sampler Instruments folder it doesn't show up in the SI flip menu. I've put Meta 3 in Meta 2, still no show in the Meta 2 flip menu. BTW, the first 2 Meta cd's are set up without any problems, and they sound f*cking great. Anothet thing that strikes me: How come the content of a sample cd expressed in mb is next to nothing compared to the actual size of the cd rom. An example: I've put Emagic's Xtreme Analog sample library into EXS24. The actual content of XA is 100 mb spread over 261 files and 8 maps. Well, rightclicking the XA file in the SI folder gives the following: 2,13 mb!, while the 261 files and the 8 maps stay in places. And yet it all works ok, the XA is a huge sounding CD Rom. PS i still got over 6 GB left on my HD, and work with 866mhz and 512 ram and after every SI folder change i relaunch Logic Audio. What did i miss?
