The MP3 demo is about as lame as you could get and if the last example is their idea of a "Rock Kit" then they are living on a different planet to me and the rest of the world. There are some old work horse type drum CD's around that sound better than this demo. The Clearmountain discs come to mind. Actually if you don't mind a bit of work you would be better off with "Ross Garfield The Drum Doctor Does Drums" 1+2. Loads of good solid kicks and snares and everything else you would need to make up some great sounding kits. Remember, anyone can set up a kit and record some hits.....and there is a lot of crap getting around just like that. You want drums that have been recorded at good studios using a variety of the best microphones, mic pre's and compressors. I wouldn't settle for less just because of the convenience of the EXS format. Phil Buckle.
