it's more like a piano....I came from pianos to synths and eventually got used to the lightweight plasticky feeling. Then I did a show for 14 months with a weighted keyboard as the master- whoa my little fingers were 'out of shape' at first (because you need more energy/weight/strength to play weighted keys- it's more physical like the piano- ) but once I was back used to it, I decided never to go back to not-weighted keyboards ever ever again: so I got one. I'ts heavier to travel, if you're going to be moving it around but I love it. You can get more expression out of them I think because you can bang it a bit harder and get more dynamic range - I mean velocity- it's easier to control- however if you're just inputting notes it;s just like a non weighted keyboard only better.,,,,have you tried the E4 K by Emu, it's semi-weighted OK rant off cheers- Barb
