This sounds like BS. It's a rip off on the Emagic article. You can tell by the flaw, "Windows-based products account for under 35 percent of Steinberg's current revenues..." then they say Steinberg is dropping Mac?!?! The perpetrator forgot to change "Windows-based" to "Mac-based." Only then would the joke make sense. This doesn't not make sense -- buying a company and dismissing 65% of your profits. This is obviously a response joke to the Emagic announcement, in my opinion. > Just when you thought it was enough... > > Microsoft Acquires Steinberg > July 1st 2002 > > Redmond, WA and Berlin, Germany -- July 1, 2002 -- > Microsoft today announced it has acquired Steinberg, a leading provider of > professional software solutions for computer based music production. > Steinberg's most popular product, Cubase, is actively used by over 200,000 > musicians around the world.
