This works the best for me:
I get a call from a client, go in for a brief, and they tell me they 
want to hear something in 2 or 3 days.
That always gets me started.    :-)

Seriously though, I often find that getting new 
sounds/samples/presets really helps. If I find a new patch very 
inspiring, I immediately WANT to play and create music with it.
