Hi JP, While I can clearly see your point about a strategy that has a focus on one specific platform, it is perhaps a little harsh to be critical of those PC users of Logic/EXS24 who have expressed their disappointment/anger etc at seeing the move towards Logic becoming a 'Mac-only' application. Of course there are many application about that are platfrom specific (i.e. SONAR or Acid on the PC for example) that users of the other platform might wish were available to them.... The big difference with the vast majority of these is that they never existied in a cross-platform format in the first place.... To have a cross-platform app that you have invested considerable money/time in suddenly shelved in terms of furture development is a very different thing.... hence the considerable frustration expressed by many PC users (both on this list and the Logic list). EXS24 is a wonderful piece of software..... but, given the choice, I'm sure most of us would not wish to pay a further 1500 $/£ or so (or whatever the exact cost of the suitable computer hardware required) in order to have access to its future development.... I work with a number of other musicians on collaborative projects... some of these individuals are PC-based and some are Mac-based.... we all like the fact that collaboration is easy as we have setup based around the same core application (Logic/EXS24).... it is a great shame that, in time, as Logic develops new features on the Mac, that collaboration process is likely to become more difficult.... This said, I do hope the Apple move comes off for Emagic and Logic goes from strength to strength in its Mac form..... fingers crossed the whole thing doesn't go down the pan.... With best wishes, John > Finally, someone who is tired of all > the crybabies like I am !! > > Very well said, and a great point made ; focus on the Mac / Logic > combo will result in the strongest DAW for the Mac to date - ( just > like so many PC-only apps are for Windows )... I totally agree > with you ! > >"" !! > > Best, > JP.
