I use DR-008 which is great. It is low on CPU and it has synthesis features. Sort of a cross between Attack and Battery, only better than both IMO. I havent done any comparisons against EXS and dont know if theres any difference in CPU usage. I use it mainly for synth drum sounds but it´s features and semimodular design goes far beyond that.
