Yeah, that's a problem indeed. While watching the movie and having your coffee, you have to cast a glance at your monitor from time to time to see if there's a dialog up, asking for input... If you know which folder of instruments will run into this problem, you could start out by removing that folder from the exs-instr folder, do the suggested trick, and then re-add the folder. Then pick the 1st instr from this folder, do the suggested trick once more, but this time stay at the computer to catch any dialogs that will pop up.
