[exs] Using (2 CD) GiG Files with EXS (Please Help)

2002-10-07 by Jason Greenberg

This is my second post, nobody responded to my first post and I'm getting
desperate. I don't know what to do so I would really appreciate any help.

I have a 2 CD set of a sampled piano "Malmsjo Acoustic Grand". Each CD has
a big GIG file as well as some small little windows files like txt and ini
files etc.. I need to know how I'm supposed to combine these files into one
gig file so that they can be seen as one instrument instead of two.

I'm pretty sure I set everything up correctly with the EXS because I have
done this many times using sample cell files. I simply put the two gig
files into a folder and then put an alias of that folder into the sampler
instruments folder, then I open logic and the exs and open the Malmjo Grand
Piano alias in the EXS list. Then I saw each sample get converted. When
all this completed, only the first few octaves of the piano sounded. I
don't understand what is going on. Do I need to manually map these files???
I don't have any experience using the editor or mapping.

I really would appreciate any help because I really want to try my new Piano
CD and I'm not able to.

Thanks,
Jason
