I'm trying to make some sense of this but can't seem to. > Please help me figure this out, Jason Here's one example (my pet peeve, anyway): - You have a drumkit in EXS, kick, snare toms, hat, ride, crashes, etc. - You need to have different filter & envelope settings (not just offsets) for each type of drum and cymbal, to make them respond realisically to playing (from the keyboard or from a MIDI drumkit) - You need to be able to play/record the whole kit together in realtime With EXS as it is, you can't do this.. - If you want to play the whole kit together, you can't have different settings per drum (the offsets just don't cut it, at least not for me) - If you put each drum in a separate instantiation of EXS, then you lose the ability to play/record the kit all together in realtime If Emagic adds these capabilities to the rumored upcoming update to EXS, that'll make a big difference, especially if thay also improve the Envelopes, Filters, and Modulation Routings along the lines of the more sophisticated options in ES2 (or the competition's offerings in Kontakt).. :-) Cheers, Joe Albano ROOFTOP PRODUCTIONS NYC, NY
