I'm not Hans Zimmerman (although I wish I had his bank account ;-), and
still I
feel the need for more than 16 audio instruments. Most of my songs contain
lots
of samples, and therefore 16 EXS/DR005 instances often aren't enough.

Mentioning the 64 audio tracks per driver type: even that is close
sometimes. I
often use lots of audio and vocals layers and I have to bounce down now and
then.

I don't think so... it's just a misunderstanding between the two of you, I
think.

There are limitations in EXS indeed... but there are many advantages as
well: you
get a 24bit 96kHz sampler (doesn't exist in hardware yet) with a great
filter,
"some" modulation possibilities (I just reread the manual and I'm impressed
how
many things are in that GUI - doesn't have the synthesis power of an
Emulator of
K2600 yet though) and great integration with your songs: everything is
stored
within a song, you can save all your samples on 1 huge harddisk and access
all of
them easily and quickly etc etc.
