I use Emagic's Zap for exactly the same thing. Only for audio files
though, of course.

It's particularly handy when I'm not sure if something's important
enough to waste one backup CD on, let alone two. ;-)

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
