Interesting... and thanks. Can you give me a rough idea of the compressor settings that I should be shooting for. I use compression to toughen up sounds most of the time, so I'm wondering what to set the compressor to in order to make the bass take a back seat to the kick. This is very interesting to me and could help in a lot of situations. I want to get it right.
