Can I use EXS24 in a mapped instrument?

2001-02-25 by dangcookie@home.com

I just loaded the EXS24 and have been fooling around with it for a
few hours, and am disappointed to find that it won't play back when
set at the receiving end of a drum map. (e.g., directing some notes
to one sampler, and others to EXS24) Does this have to do with the
fact that an audio object has to be selected in the Arrange window?
This would be a very disappointing discovery, as I bought the EXS24
simply for playing back hi-hats, rides and crashes, as part of my
drum mapping layout, where my Kurzweil K2500 generates the kicks,
snares, toms and percussion on 4 different channels.

Before I jump to any more conclusions, I could really use some
feedback from someone. It would seem a shame to not be able to use
an EXS24 audio object however you'd like in the Environment. Another
basic example of this would be to direct midi to more than one EXS24
object at a time via a splitter, hence layering EXS sounds easily
within Logic.

I'm going to peruse this list to see if this has already been
discussed (and I apologize if it already has!), but I could really
use your advice. Thanks!
