I'm working with EXS piano samples, some which came bundled with EXS, others not. The samples I see do respond to the right (sustain) pedal -- recognized as Control 64 within the MIDI environment. However, the samples I see do not respond to the middle (sostenuto) pedal -- recognized as Control 66 within the MIDI environment. If I edit the Logic file using window #2 (events), I notice that if I manually edit Control 64, recognized as EXS#1, to Control 66, assigned as EXS#3, at least half the time the behavior changes to what I would expect from the middle pedal (why the other half not remains a mystery, but that's not my burning issue at hand). So I know that the samples themselves will respond to the middle pedal if that pedal is recognized. How do I configure a sample within EXS to recognize the middle pedal when I'm actually playing the keyboard? I've tried to edit the EXS keyboard. There is a section for control. When I did what seemed obvious to me, the sample did not respond as I anticipated. Cheers, Larry
