I'm currently using two RME ADI-8 pro adda's thru adat lightpipes. The RME convertors sound fantastic and on my desk are another ADI-8 and the new Hammerfall card (the one with the dsp and midi) to check out. As soon as I've got them installed and tested I'll get back. The Hammerfall is to my knowledge the only Logic-compatible card to deliver a max of 24 (24!) analogue ins-outs over adat lightpipes. And that's only one card, imagine what possibilities you'd gain by adding another one.... (I used to use racks full of samplers and synthmodules and although they're still lying around in the studio, I'm pretty confident they'll leave the building one day soon...:)) I'd say go for the hammerfall, not the 828, what I've heared (and read here) it's not too stable...
