IMO The Grand is not very suiteable for classical music. It is nice for what it does but I personally dislike the high register. It simply sounds too artificial for my ears (or more precisely the demo on Steinberg's Website does sound that way). Almost a year ago I had come across a (giga-related?) forum which had pointers to many different piano samples. If I recall it correctly there was a site dedicated to comparing various piano samples. Unfortunately I have lost the URL but I guess I'd be able to find that site again. Back then I had downloaded lots of sample-MP3s. A couple of MIDI files (available for download) played with the various samples and ROM Piano modules and recorded as MP3. *Very* interesting. I'll try to research that particular URL. However I seem to recall back when The Grand was new there had been a discussion on the LUG and someone had provided the pointer to the aforementioned forum from where I had found the comparison site. Searching the archive should help here. Best, Michael -- Vote against SPAM - see http://www.politik-digital.de/spam/ Michael Gerdau email: mgd@...
