Here's a few tips regarding REX2-to-EXS import: - Set a global import path in your audio record menu path in case you want to keep those loops as "generic" ones. That path obviously should be a subdirectory of your usual EXS sample directory. - Keep the original REX files somewhere (I wouldn't keep them in the "sampler instruments" directory after conversion is done). They come in handy in case you want to preview loops. Which brings up the next point... - You can preview REX files in song tempo (!). Any audio import menu will work for that. I'm usually using shift+pencil on an audio track, straight in the arrange. And now a superb PC only tip (talking about superior OSs, eh?): - Open the EXS, have it floating over your arrange. - Use shift+pencil (or the plain audio import menu, whatever you prefer). - Scroll to your REX files. Prelisten to them as much as you like. Remember to keep the EXS visible! - As soon as you find a suitable loop, load it into the EXS - WITHOUT (!) closing the audio file "open" dialog (this is the part that won't work on Macs)! - Continue surfing loops, you may eventually find a better one. In case that happens, load the better one into the EXS. Note: It won't be displayed instantly, but it will be loaded! - When done, press "Cancel" in the audio file import menu. => The last loaded loop will now be displayed in the EXS. Once you got used to that procedure, surfing, prelistening and loading loops is incredibly fast. And yes, it's a goddamn shame this ain't working on Macs! Sascha
