Got my Malmsj\ufffd piano today - it's amazing what you can fit in an envelope
these days! ;-)
First impression: character. This is not your swiss-army-knife grand. It's
round, has LOTS of resonant tone (sustain pedal down), and a dynamic that
favours the low end. That means that if, like me, you're looking for a
soft/very soft piano sound, look no further. This is one subtle baby. I
will use it mostly for film and tv scoring. Actually, I'm working on a
thriller/horror film right now, and it's the perfect sound (along with
Absynth, Atmosphere and the fabulous Prosonous Prepared Piano). I would not
recommend it for rock or pop. But hey, at that price for a piano, you can
easily by a couple more (just get a big mailbox...).
