Fortunately, no. Translator can transfer an Akai Multi plus the Programs 
plus the Samples from the Akai CD to the ZipDrive. 
www.chickensys.com/translator - Translator is the only program that can 
write directly to the proprietary Akai format. (I also think you can 
transfer even the Multi to MESA format, need to check though.)

We do sell a robust, Campbell Soup model (whatever that is), for $99.95, 
works great. There's other sources as well. I don't think you need it with 
your setup, if you get Translator, which will be more valuable in the long 
run anyway.

In the next Translator build (I think out next week) Translator can 
transfer an EXS-24 Instrument and samples either to MESA format or to Akai 
format and wirte it to the ZipDrive. It will support converting Mark II and 
Mark I EXS-24 files (meaning it reads the new information) and accurately 
converts them either to MESA for transfer using Millennium or you can write 
them directly to the ZipDrive.
