Translator can transfer an Akai Multi plus the Programs plus the Samples from the Akai CD to the ZipDrive. www.chickensys.com/translator - Translator is the only program that can write directly to the proprietary Akai format. (I also think you can transfer even the Multi to MESA format, need to check though.) >If it is, can anyone recommend a model that works well? We do sell a robust, Campbell Soup model (whatever that is), for $99.95, works great. There's other sources as well. I don't think you need it with your setup, if you get Translator, which will be more valuable in the long run anyway. >Also, is there any way of converting exs instruments back to akai >programs, for pc processor load reduction? In the next Translator build (I think out next week) Translator can transfer an EXS-24 Instrument and samples either to MESA format or to Akai format and wirte it to the ZipDrive. It will support converting Mark II and Mark I EXS-24 files (meaning it reads the new information) and accurately converts them either to MESA for transfer using Millennium or you can write them directly to the ZipDrive.
