With RetroFunk I thought all was ok until I noticed that instruments were not there and in fact didn't even turn up in the convert window. Then of course there was the click in every file. Also with the Jaeger Library it would only translate the 32k instruments and none of the 44.1 instruments.......and NONE of the tunings of individual samples were retained. I can guarantee that your translation has retained none of your sample tunings so your library is out of tune as would be any keyboard or any instrument with sample tuning......ie almost everything except drums. Go check the tuning of the individual samples in you Sampler and then check the tuning in the EXS24............actually there wont be any so don't waste your time. Akai conversion using EXS24, Osmosis, Unity or Interpreter will result in all tunings being lost. Seems they can't solve this problem........yet. This is not a problem with EXS24 alone and I am not criticizing them for it. But buyers should be aware that if they think that they are going to get full use from their Akai disks they are mistaken. I for one refuse to pay good money for a CDRom only to have all the tunings lost in the translation. Obviously you don't want to pay $3000 for the Miroslav Vitous Library and then have the tuning out of whack because you want to use your fully integrated ($500) software Sampler. Here's hoping that Emagic include Sample Cell conversion in their updates and that they get the tuning right. This would mean that those of us who have used Sample Cell for the last ten years can move across to EXS24 and not lose fundamental features.......like being in tune. A selfish wish....I know, but not an unreasonable one. Phil Buckle.
