I can get through them reasonably quickly -- it gets fiddly if you make a mistake and then copy and paste the zones with the error. I was watching the cricket world cup on TV while I finished building it -- As you might know cricket is a very long game ;-) I had an earlier half built version. The earlier V2 Kontakt version I could not open in Kontakt so I couldn't see the correct mapping. > > I am just wondering, sometimes I'm getting no snare sound when playing this > kit in realtime. Velocity splits and group routings seem to be all OK. I just tested the version I have and could not replicate this problem. I don't think I have changed it since I put it up on Yahoo. One thing though -- you need to assign a LOTof voices to this kit -- be generous give it 64. The default 16 voices will not cut it at all. There are two samples triggering for every hit of the keyboard (one overhead and one close mic) and everything is "one shot" -- it is not hard to get up to 40 voices playing in a busy part if you leave everything at Max voices. Cutting down the voices for the hats group is a good idea. > > Anyways, unfortunately the snare sound is not my cup of tea (I usually like > either those pretty tight ones or the deep 70-ish funky ones), so I don't > know yet if I'll make much use of that. I quite like the overhead kick and hat samples. I have not had much experience blending mics for the same drum hits and in the case of these samples I wonder what could be achieved by playing with the time alignment of the samples (OH vs Close mic).
