Paul,
Is your virtual memory turned on in the EXS?  When your ESX is open, 
you'll notice in the upper left of the of the EXS are two menu 
choices (Option and Edit), choose 'Option' and scroo down to 'Virtual 
Memory', and make sure the 'Active' box is checked.  If it's already 
checked, mess around with the other two parameters in the same windwo 
and see if that helps.
