I've noticed that EXS24 produces clicks when I load in some of my bigger instruments. Raising the I/O buffer size reduces these somewhat, while not eradicating them altogether. Is lack of memory the culprit? (running Dual 867 with 256meg Ram and Hammerfall 9636). Thanks, Paul -- Paul Zimmer (ZAP! - Zimmer Audio Production) www.zimmeraudio.com

When your ESX is open, you'll notice in the upper left of the of the EXS are two menu choices (Option and Edit), choose 'Option' and scroo down to 'Virtual Memory', and make sure the 'Active' box is checked. If it's already checked, mess around with the other two parameters in the same windwo and see if that helps. Armen http://truartrecords.com

Is lack of memory the culprit? (running Dual > 867 with 256meg Ram and Hammerfall 9636). I think so, 256 meg ram is really not enough for Logic/EXS24. The EXS24 can stream the samples from your hard drive which means that you can load instruments bigger than your available Ram. However the disk streaming speed is limited by your hard drive access time and speed. Usually when you begin to hear Clicks in larger files, it's because the disk streaming cannot provide the samples fast enough. So go buy more memory, you will have better performance and you will less use your hard drive. Bernard

Out of interest - are there any downsides to using the virtual memory (I guess it will have a hit on my "Disk I/O" meter?). Would getting extra memory allow me to avoid these clicks without need for use of the virtual memory option? Thanks, Paul
