EXS list and Outlook Express Mac 5.0.6 problem

EXS list and Outlook Express Mac 5.0.6 problem

2003-03-14 by teddybut

Anyone else ever see this madness?

I received message #900 from the EXS list. For some bizarre reason I
couldn't delete it. After much deleting effort (dragged it to the deleted
items folder and was able to delete it, but there was always an unwanted
copy left behind) I have ended up with 2 totally blank, un-deleteable
emails. Outlook now crashes just about every time I open it. One in my inbox
and one my EXS list folder... what the hell Microsoft? Maybe you guys who
said you'd never use Outlook Express were right, although this is my first
problem in 7 years of using it. I've trashed prefs etc. everything I can
think of. was it a corrupt message from the List?

I've had this many times. Try rebuilding your database (start with
option key pressed), then don't forget to delete the "old" backup
files in your "mail identity" folder. Also, it would be a good idea
to import your address books and important mail wit something like
Eudora, as your database may get corrupted any time and you may want
to reimport it back to Lookout once you've backed it up. I had some
nasty crashes last year, so I had to trash my database completely,
and that was the only way to solve the problem.

One crash in seven years? I say, trash the soft. Microsoft are hopeless...
You should have listened to "the others". My Emagic/Logic hasn't crashed
once in ten years.

you, with all due respect, are not being helpful with this answer. why even
write back if that's all you have to say. bla, no solution, only hot air. I
guess that's why you call yourself Oblivion? he he he : )

are you trying to be a condescending prick with no compassion or
understanding for others? Why would I listen to you after receiving such a
ridiculously unhelpful answer from you? Is that irony? Where I'm from we
call it, "you're being a jerk". Your lame sense of humor is only showing
your lack of relevance to this thread which has already been answered by a
more helpful person. My original question, in case you weren't able to
comprehend it, was about a suspected corrupt email from this list among
other things. sheesh, some people...

done with you now... stop.

Not a problem. Apology accepted. You don't have to keep your lame sense of
humor to yourself. Just don't expect everyone to get it. I was only pissed
cause you were hell bent on being really un-helpful. I should have just
ignored you since I had my answer already, I was too tired to remember that
answering you with my actual thoughts would only clog the list with more of
the same condescending posts. My bad. I will also go on a self editing
spree.
