Because it is not a VST instrument, it is a Logic propietary 
instrument over which they have complete control over the host 
and the instrument. I have to agree that is is not useful for drums 
until looping works. It does however sound very good. Too the 
point where I won't be able to give up my Akai samplers because 
the EXS 24 is too pristine sounding. Drums have a certain sound 
when they come from the Akai samplers, rough, big, a little dirty. 
That's a good thing though. I think the EXS 24 will be great for the 
acoustic instruments. Which raises my quest of several years. 
Anybody know of a piano sample set that really sounds good. I 
mean actually good, not just good playing one or two notes. One 
that sounds like a piano when you are playing chords in a track.
