In the EXS24 instrument file, you can easily locate the sample path but there are other important sample parameters that are also stored in the instrument file, like the root key, the sample size, le loop point, the number of channels, the resolution, and an offset to the beginning of the audio data in a sample file. This means that you cannot just replace one sample by another one like you did. If you do that, then the EXS24 will aply the old parameters to the new sample which may give inpredictible results...
