Unfortunately a tabular version of the instrument definition -- something like
the one in Reaktor --  with "find and replace" type features has not been
offered. Perhaps a third party could offer this if Emagic will not. 

Often when building instruments from a set of similar sample sets,  the pattern
of naming files is followed over a series -- eg a series of drumkits with
identical layouts and file naming schemes. A routine which allowed the
substitution of a few characters would allow you to build subsequent
instruments in the series in seconds once the initial instrument was defined. 

Setting up graphical velocity switching layers would be pretty handy too.

Perhaps one of the enterprising utilities builders would be prepared to tackle
this project.
