Indexing your drive should help speed up search times. You can also scan the archives for message outlining how to automate the firs-load hurdle while you are asleep. It's a matter of tying your EXS next instrument command to a control number (in the EXS editor preferences), then putting this command in a sequence, leaving a reasonable space between events. Basically, just leave the sequencer on loop and go to bed.
