I would try "High" for Hard-disk recording and "Slow" for hard disk -- basically you want the biggest buffer size you can. You can see the effect of the changes in the above settings in the RAM allocation box. CPU cycles can be conserved to some degree by picking 32-bit float mode in the EXS24 prefs and, at the cost of some audio quality, choosing normal instead of best mode.
