IMHO anything that Eric Persing has done.....mainly Liquid Grooves and Burning Grooves, Retro Funk and I assume the much anticipated "Back Beats" will be of equal quality. This is the top shelf, there is no better. Other audio discs worth picking up are the Ross Garfield ones. Loads of well recorded single hits on many different drums. Probably not worth forking out for the Roms of these though. The audio versions will suffice .....if you don't mind a bit of chopping. All these examples are real drums recorded in pro recording studios using outboard gear that we probably can't afford to even hire. I would avoid the libraries that are rehashed Akai samples put together by some dude in his bedroom........there's a lot of "mutton dressed as lamb" out there. Phil Buckle.
