Well my friend, this sounds like the way to do it. I guess I was getting too caught up in having velocity be my sample select and instead the EXS24 natively has it's own parameter for velocity switching and I should have focused the solution in using the sample select switching with Controller#1. Thanks so much for this. And, actually when using sections, I a can make some pretty convincing Xfaded velocity zones, but not for solo instruments. The doubling effect works well if the the two samples are well tuned to each other and you use DB type crossfading (parobolic curve) as opposed to equal gain. One more follow up question... Using this technique could I set up lot's of different controllers to switch on and off different sample groups? What would be an efficient way to say, create a Violin Section consisting of 4 possibles: Long Tremelo Pizzicato Marcato Each crossfaded via velocity in 3 velocities of PP, MF, and FF ? Thank you very much for your thorough response. I am a film composer and deadlines are important. Your helpful answer will save me a lot of time. I am indebted to your wisdom. Evan Evans
