I just converted 1 Giga file into exs, then I copied the newly created
folder in the Logic folder (it was the 1st Giga file I converted) to my
Audio Drive & put an alias in the Logic folder. Then I let the Project
manager run to find the related samples (which went pretty fast, because I
only converted one instrument). After that, all the Giga instruments I
convert automatically got put into the folder on my Audio Drive!

I agree that this is somehow a PITA, but it seems to work.
