It may appear that you can, because Logic allows you to insert an EXS on a TDM Aux object - but this is just a convenience. It is still running from the native audio engine (and ram). There is a benefit to Emagic doing it this way. ESB, the Emagic technology that allows you to stream the mac native audio engine into TDM outputs, only allows for 8 channels.
