If you find you can only open one at a time (of most windows in
Logic), check the Link icon.
That's the little chain button top left-ish.

If it's grey, you can open as many as you like from the windows menu.
If the link button is activated, the window always displays the same
contents as the top window.
If you double-click it and it turns yellow, you're in Contents Catch
mode - the window always shows the contents of the object selected in
the top window.

Each mode is useful in certain instances.

eg
You have an arrange window open and below it, a matrix or score
window. The link button in the matrix/score window is yellow. Now,
whatever sequence you select in the arrange window, the contents will
be shown in the matrix or score window below. So....it follows
whatever you select.

example 2:
You have an arrange window and a matrix window open. Do as above and
select a sequence (eg piano) in the arrange - the piano shows in the
matrix. Switch OFF the link now. That keeps the piano matrix there.

Open a new matrix window (from the windows menu). Engage
Contents/yellow link and select your bass sequence in the arrange.
Matrix 2 now shows the bass part. Dis-engage link mode again.

Keep repeating....

Obviously, if you forget to switch the link off, all your windows
will simply follow the sequence you select.

TIP:
Once you have set this up to your liking, copy the window arrangement
to another screenset for safekeeping. You can also copy this
screenset from song to song if required.

Hope this makes sense
Colin
