Not sure -- could be.  Usually mixed mode refers to CDs with files 
_plus_ audio on them.  Just give the 1.3 extension a try to see if 
that solves the problem.

The EXS can't be reinstalled as it's just a part of the Logic 
application -- it's embedded in Logic and the code only makes it 
accessible.
As for the 1.3 extension download address: that too is in the FAQ, 
item 18.15.  The FAQ address is in the footer of this message (with 
some more relevant info).  At the very least you could _read_ the FAQ 
when pointed to it, couldn't you? :-)
