Or (at the same page) use the rndcc patch to generate a random-valued controller event, and have the controller set up to do the 'sample select' in the EXS. RndCC was more or less specificaly created for this purpose. The advantage (in this case) over RndNotes is that you can layer multiple variations of a note on the same key instead of having to spread them across the keyboard (which is less intuitive).
