Might the 6.0 project manager help me do this? Except for the obvious copying/deleting of samples (which is cumbersome) only one approach comes to mind (although I'm not sure if the PM would be any help here -- havmn't delved into the PM at all yet): For all instruments that you use in this manner, create _two_ sets of instruments -- have one set named "instrument (int)" or something. Before making the copies, first load all instruments that you want to have available from both locations once in the EXS (from the FW drive). The .exs files are now altered (if needed) to point at the samples on the FW drive. Now copy the .exs files to the internal drive and rename them as suggested. Copy the samples to the internal drive and disconnect the FW drive. Load the (int) instruments once: the .exs files will now point to the internal drive. Finally reconnect the FW drive. When you now load a 'normal' instrument, the .exs file will point at the FW samples, and when you load a (int) instrument, it'll point at the internal samples. Just remember to never load a FW instrument in the EXS when the FW drive is not connected, as this will cause the EXS to find the samples on the internal drive and rewrite the .exs file. -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra h @ k n o w a r e . n l Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com/
