#1 Import the audio file into Logic and open it...you'll see the 
waveform.  In that window, in the Factory menu, you'll see the Time and 
Pitch machine...first option.  Open that and you're on your way.  It's 
pretty self explanitory.
#2.  Are you saying that Logic quits...Are you opening a song....with 
another song open...I'm not understanding "what ever I had gets lost"
