Hi. I'm new to the list. So pls excuse me if you've already heard this one. I have a Kurzweil K2000 that I've done extensive sampling on. Can anyone tell me of the simplest way to get samples from Kurz format to EXS24 for LAMP, and have the same key mapping as on the Kurz. Thanx a bunch oldsoul111

Translator and CDXtract...they are universal translators from one format to another. I have the most experience with Translator for Kurz translations. I think it's www.chickensys.com regards julie On Saturday, August 23, 2003, at 08:04 PM, oldsoul111@... wrote: > Hi. I'm new to the list. So pls excuse me if you've already heard this > one. Yep, I also use Translator for Kurz to EXS24. I've translated many programs over, specifically the ones that don't use a lot of the VAST engine, such as realistic sounds such as drums, flutes, etc.. The keymaps translate extremely well. One problem I did encounter was with the Young Chang 16MB piano, which -- as it turns out -- uses samples sampled at as low as 18kHz. The guys at Kurzweil were ingenious with that piano and it sounds excellent. However, the EXS does not like playing the notes that are sampled at these extra low rates, and the result is a resonant buzz. Garth at Chicken Systems said he is going to modify Translator to "convert" the extra-low sample rate samples to higher ones during the conversion to eliminate this problem. I'm not sure he's done this yet. Garth, are you listening? David Gowing
