seperate panels of settings for instruments

seperate panels of settings for instruments

2003-08-28 by ben

hello all...
how do i...
1. have one "instrument," with, for example a kik on C1, snare on
D1, hat on E1.
2. i know how to map them but, can i have seperate panel
parameters for each. ie, different filter, modulations, env's, etc.
3. if i cant, oh well. but it still seems that when i use the drop
down menu to switch between instruments, they front panel doesnt
change.

help clear my confusion.
thanks
ben

The front panel settings are global for your current instrument. If you
have external effect plugins that mimic the filter of the EXS24, such
as Autofilter, and you have the EXS MKII, you can send each sample out
a different output (it's in the sample's parameter guide), and then
have each sample go through a different effect chain. If you're doing
heavy modulation of these samples, it's probably best to just make a
separate instrument for each. You could, in theory, control them all
from a single midi track in the arrange window by making a notesplitter
in the environment, but that's probably too much work.

To save the front panel settings to the current instrument, go to the
options pop-up menu and choose something like "save settings to
instrument".
